Mom's Doctor called last night.
He said that Mom is doing well and that
by the weekend, he wants to move her to an
"extended care" facility.
I said that I had spoken with the social worker, Sandy, yesterday.
He said that would be the best option for Mom because,
she would soon be ready to leave
hospital care and move on to
the next "phase" of care.
He mentioned Manor Care in Libertyville.
Mom was at Manor Care 4 years ago when she
broke her right shoulder.
She was there for 3 months and ... well.... let's just say,
Manor Care was very understaffed at that time.
I talked to the social worker about a place in Lindenhurst called
Victory Lakes. She said she would call to see
what was available.
I haven't heard back from her yet
but I am fairly certain she will call today.
My thoughts are these:
1) The Dr that is taking care of Mom visits his patients at Manor Care everyday.
2) He called us last night at 7:21
3) Mom doesn't have a broken shoulder this time.
4) He said that he wants to have Mom evaluated for physical therapy so that she can move around a little easier.
Taking all of these things into consideration...
I feel as though he will look after Mom PLUS we will be
bringing her back home as soon as
all of her "problems"
are corrected which I am thinking will probably be
a few weeks or so....
