Update On Mom

The ambulance arrived yesterday morning

at around 10:15.

The 2 EMT's were very kind and helpful.

Mom was on the road by 10:50 am with Gary and I riding in 

"Clementine", our little orange jeep,

right behind them.

We got to Condell Memorial Hospital

around 11:15 or so

and Mom was taken to room 44 in the ER.

Everyone there was friendly, helpful and attentive.

After tests and examinations, 

It is determined that her white blood count is low,

due to the fact that she has stage 2 bed sores :*(

and a fungal infection ( yeast type )

She also has a bacterial bladder infection.

Poor Gramma.

They started antibiotics immediately and

are doing a culture on the urine specimen to determine

what type of antibiotics she will need.

She also has a heart murmur.

They kept her and it is now 7am on Wednesday.

I haven't called yet.

I promise.

Gary and I are enjoying a divinely peaceful morning.....

sipping coffee and reading the paper.

I will call the hospital around 9 or so this morning.

I told them that I kill houseplants and that

Gramma needs to be "fixed" before I bring her back home.

They laughed.

I was serious :)
