Tell us a bit about yourself?
I have always been a creative person but have had very little formal training. For the past 5 years, I have been an obsessed paper crafter, beginning with making large “art” cards and also moving some into mixed media. A year ago, I started selling the frilly and funkie craft supplies that I love use. I recently moved my boutique over here to Zibbet.
Apart from being ‘creative’ what do you do?
For the past 3 years, I have been running a large food pantry for my church. However, I will be retiring shortly and my Zibbet boutique will be my retirement focus.
What inspires you to do the kind of work you do?
My God-given creativity. Now that I have time in my life, I can give full reign to my creative urges and play to my heart’s content.
Do you look up to anyone? Who? Why?
There are so many artists in the paper crafting community who have inspired and will continue to inspire me. One of the wonderful developments is the blogosphere where creative beings can share and inspire one another.
What other passions do you have in your life?
My family and my charity/social justice work.
What do you like most about Zibbet?
The array of handmade work is a feast for the senses. I love just strolling through the incredible offerings and also seeing the fun crafty goodies for making handmade items.
What ‘new’ things would you like to see added to Zibbet?
Oh, I have a list – LOL! Having come over from Etsy, I have found things that Zibbet does way better than Etsy but there are also things that I am missing such as the ability to view a cusstomer’s invoice and to download my monthy sales in a CSV file, among others.
How do you promote your work?
I have a blog to share my artwork. I offer items for sale that I use in my work. My blog readers can obtain frilly and funkie items by shopping in my boutique. I also just started a challenge blog to totally promote my boutique. I have a design team that uses my products and shows their creations on their own blogs and on our challenge blog. There are daily happenings there which also promote my shop.
How would you recommend other Zibbeters make the most of Zibbet.com?
Offer a nice variety of products, be sure your photographs show your products to the best advantage, work hard, network/market and be patient.
In the future I’d like to be…
a successful Zibbet seller!
